For more than 22 years, Epic Homes has been building homes across the Greater Wellington Region and the Kāpiti Coast. Over that time, the business has grown and evolved, but has remained locally owned with the same commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Epic Homes Back Story
Epic Homes was founded in 2004 by Rodney Harkness, following many years of experience in the building industry. Rodney began his career as a Cabinet Maker before establishing RH Builders and, in March 2004, Epic Homes Limited.
Over the past 22 years, Epic Homes has grown into an established residential building company, with experience across design & build homes, subdivisions, residential developments and knockdown & rebuild projects throughout the Greater Wellington Region and the Kāpiti Coast. During that time, Epic Homes has received numerous Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards. Rodney has also served seven years on the Wellington Master Builders Executive and as a board member of the Porirua Chamber of Commerce. Epic Homes remains locally owned and operated.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the building industry, Rodney Harkness is a leader in residential building across the Wellington region.
Rodney remains very hands-on in the day-to-day running of Epic Homes, dealing directly with the majority of clients and staying closely involved throughout their builds. He is still just as comfortable getting on the tools when needed, with a strong focus on quality workmanship and ensuring every Epic Homes build meets the standard he expects.
